Today, most automatic-pagination systems require the presence of EPS files. This has given rise to the need for a QuarkXPress XTensions module to speed up the tedious and often error-prone process of saving display ads as EPS files. EPS-iT has been written expressly with this in mind. Several automatic features have been incorporated in this fully functional and essential utility. EPS-iT gives the operator two ways of selecting the EPS file destination folder. Either a dialog appears to allow manual selection of any number of destinations, or EPS-iT will store the file in a destination determined by a code letter at the start of the file name.
When naming the EPS files, EPS-iT can optionally carry out one or more of these operations on the file name: strip all nonnumeric characters from the jobs file name; simply allow the user to input a file name; or add any extension (such as EPS to the file name).
EPS-iT allows the user to set the EPS format requirements in advance, including preview and OPI requirements. Just set default requirements in the EPS-iT preferences, and all EPS files will be stored with those attributes. EPS-iT can either save the total job area, or can calculate the smallest box that will enclose the objects on the page and make this the bounding box.
