PictureManager is a credits-management utility that allows the user to create caption boxes for graphics with a maximum of ease. It includes an automatic picture-updating facility that searches through user-specified volumes or folders for missing and modified files, and updates images as required. PictureManager will also allow user-definable defaults to be applied to the caption text box (e.g., text attributes, style sheets, caption frame, and background options). Position-caption options include relative to the graphic (distance and orientation), default text, and automatic sizing and placing of captions.
Easily edit any attribute. A file mover utility enables the user to select a file and specify a destination disc and/or folder for copying of the file and all linked elements, including DCS files if required, and optionally, transfer QuarkXPress preferences and auxiliary files as well.
Features:
• auto update utility searches through predefined volumes or folders for missing or modified graphics and optionally updates them;
• controls automatic updating by specifying default-search paths and/or update options;
• turn on or off individual greeking for picture boxes;
• optionally suppress print out of picture boxes or pictures on a global or individual basis;
• invert pictures to produce negatives; and
• high-speed searching for graphics based on document names and types (displayed in a floating palette) that can be dragged for precise placement in any open document.
New features address the needs of OPI users:
• replace all files regardless of the file status (e.g., missing, modified, or OK);
• search for files using criteria specified in the updater defaults dialog box;
• optionally control the names of the files that will be used to replace existing files through a dialog interface;
• when replacing, leave file name as is;
• when replacing, add a prefix to the file name and search for this new file name;
• when replacing, add a suffix to the file name and search for this new file name;
• when replacing, strip a prefix from the file name and search for this new file name;
• when replacing, strip a suffix from the file name and search for this new file name;
• prefix or suffix can contain up to ten characters.
